The excellent and easy accessible lowland rainforest which is protected in the Subic Bay Freeport zone is definitely one of the most bird rich sites in the Philippines which guarantees some easy birding, to Filipino standards at least. Therefore, Subic possibly has the best introduction to birding in the Philippines with a number of endemics and specialities present. (birding2asia.com)
This ecotour aims to give participants an opportunity to learn about the biodiversity in the forests of Subic. Together with a bird photographer, we will be going on a guided birdwatching trail and learning the basics of bird photography. We will be visiting 2 venues for birdwatching. The first area is
located in the roadsides within the suburbs, and the second is in the forest. The forest trail is very beginner-friendly, consisting of flat terrain.
Spot some species such as the Luzon Hornbill, Luzon Flameback, Blue-naped parrot, Guiaabero, Colasisi, Black-naped Oriole, Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker, Brahminy Kite, Flying Foxes, Philippine Falconet, Bar-bellied Cuckoo Shrike, and more!
