The Sorsogon Province is a treasure of nature’s collective beauty and community love. A benchmark for sustainable tourism having merged nature, local skills/culture, and the community. This one day tour will take you to areas developed and continue to be maintained by the different local communities. First stop will be Bulusan Volcano and Nature Park. Bulusan is one of the top eco-tourism destinations in the country because of the rich eco-system consisting of a volcano, a rainforest, lakes, and waterfalls all in one area. The slopes of the volcano house local industries of Karagumoy handicrafts, Pili plantations, and local honey farms. This area is ran by the community led organization called AGAP Bulusan.
After a hearty lunch by Bulusan Lake, you will head to Gubat. Tourism here was started by the efforts of the Lola Sayong Eco Surf Camp group. The surfing and the camping operatioans here was started by enthusiastic, young, local volunteers with the objective to teach the young how to surf and to eventually provide the locals with livelihood through surfing and eco tourism. Spend the afternoon enjoying the gentle beach of Gubat and with the option to surf or to learn to surf. Enjoy the unique food options at Lola Sayong before heading to Buhatan for an evening river cruise.
The Buhatan River Cruise started in 2015 upon the creation of the people’s organization in Buhatan. Cruising down the river, listening to birds, and watching the fireflies glistening on the mangrove trees that line the Buhatan River is a treasure on its own and a perfect way to end the day.
