Smangus (司馬庫斯部落) is a the gorgeous, remote aboriginal village in the mountains of Hsinchu County. You are surrounded by epic mountain views, bamboo forests and ancient tree groves. The Ayatal tribe resides here, and the local culture is protected through tourism initiatives from the whole of Smangus village.

Drive an hour away, through winding roads, and arrive at Zhenxibao. Another indigenous village with a network of trails looping through pristine forests and even larger ancient tree groves. You get a unique perspective into old cultures while exploring ancient forests of both villages. You will be left in awe as you explore the mountainous region.
